Either head west and north on the A82 up Loch Lomond to Tarbet (not to be confused with our village, Tarbert). Take the A83 for Inveraray then to Lochgilphead and then on to Tarbert.
Alternatively, head down to Greenock and take the ferry to Dunoon. Then, just after Sandbank turn onto the B836 for Auchenbreck at the road junction with A886, turn right and then very soon turn left onto the A8003 to Tighnabruaich and then on the B8000, watch for the signs to Portavadie. Here you can get the ferry straight across to Tarbert.
